Brief Introduction

The Baitul Ma'Moor Foundation (French: Fondation Baitul Ma'Moor), formerly known as Din-e-Elahi Foundation, was founded in early 2003. The main and only objective is to provide five time congregation prayers, especially Friday Ju'maa prayers, to the Muslim population residing around the Frontenec metro area (Hochelage-Maisonneuve area). The project was initiated around 1998, and presided by the Late Abdur Rahman along with the following founders: Mohammed Ali Ahmed, Nurul Islam, Mohammed Abul Kashem, Aziz Ullah, and Abdul Mumit Choudhury,



About 1998, our community had identified an urgent need for a place of worship for Muslims (Mosque) and religious instruction after school for Muslims children age under 15. The community which is situated in eastern part of City of Montreal, borough of Ville Marie, near Frontenac Metro. The Muslim families mainly consist of low income or on social assistance. The organization has been renting various commercial locations over the years for its need.



The prayer facility which is now permanently situated at 2833 Ontario East Street, Montreal Quebec H2K 1X5 has about 2,000 square feet of area and consists of two floors, has maximum capacity of about 200 men and women worshippers and has additional capacity of 100 more worshippers.
